BOB's ANSWERS

Why did you decide to run for County Commissioner?
I plan to live in the Teton Valley the rest of my life and would like to contribute to the community. The growth in our community is creating many challenges that our county government needs to address. In my previous work, we have resolved emotionally charged issues among people who had diverse, passionately charged opinions. In my experience, issues can be resolved with the cooperation, help and sometimes compromise from the involved parties. I'm a strong believer in community and that is why I am running for Teton County commissioner. I want to serve you and keep Teton Valley a unique and special place to live.

How can our rapid growth be addressed by the County Commissioners?
The growth in our county is a great concern to all of us. We can address this with a well thought out Planned Unit Development (PUD) ordinance. We need clearer and more definitive regulations which will help developers, residents and reviewers assess the merits of proposed projects consistently. Our Zoning Ordinances, Comprehensive Plan, Capital Improvement Plan and a Preferred Land Use Map need to be developed and updated as the valley grows. Clear and updated regulations should make it easier for people to work cooperatively and ensure consistency during the planning and review of the development of our valley. A community vision will form a platform for development, jobs, quality of life and sustained property values.
